Maari 2 trailer: Dhanush aces portrayal of an unabashed, moustache-twirling local don

Maari 2 makers have released the trailer of the Dhanush-starrer. Directed by Balaji Mohan, Maari 2 marks Dhanush and Mohan’s second collaboration post Maari. Dhanush’s character keeps the idiosyncrasies of the dhoti-clad, moustache-twirling local don intact in the sequel as well. While he delivers heavy dialogues like “It’s hard to kill a man who doesn’t care about death,” the police authorities seem exasperated as they have been trying to trace him for the last eight years. YouTube[/caption] Maari, along with his band of cronies goes about doing Robin Hood-esque activities. All this while, he thinks people hate him and are scared of him. However, the “naughtiest Don” is, in fact, loved and respected by people. Sai Pallavi plays a feisty girl, determined to win Maari’s love. The two share several funny moments in the clip. The dialogues don’t disappoint either, hilarious one=liners are thrown around. As the antagonist (played by Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas) threatens Maari with “you don’t know me Maari, I’m a very very bad man,” Dhanush’s character simply replies, “If you are bad, I am your dad.” Ample slow motion shots and zoom-ins establish Maari’s larger-than-life aura. Actors Robo Shankar and Vinod, who played Dhanush’s sidekicks in the first part will also be a part of Maari 2 .
