The poster of Lucknow Central. Image from Twitter[/caption] Lucknow Central is a tale of a bunch of musicians who find a new meaning to their lives, just in this case all of them happen to be prison inmates, who land up in jail either on legitimate or false grounds. It is in the jail (Lucknow Central), where they form a band in which Farhan Akhtar plays the lead singer. Other inmates/band mates include — Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Inaamulhaq and Rajesh Sharma. While the first song, ‘Kaavan Kaavan’ was more of a band performance song in the jail, the new number, ‘Meer-E-Kaarwan’ is a soulful melody that sets forth the personal lives and journeys of Akhtar and his prison inmates. Sung by Amit Mishra and Neeti Mohan and composed by Rochak Kohli, the song is indeed a ‘kaarwan’ (journey) — an introspective voyage. It has been masterfully penned by lyricist Adheesh Verma. Also starring Diana Penty and Ronit Roy, Lucknow Central is directed by Ranjit Tiwari and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment. It is slated to release on 15 September 2017.
