Comedian Kunal Kamra has been making headlines for quite some time now. He has now claimed that he was offered the upcoming season of Salman Khan’s controversial reality show Bigg Boss, which he rejected outright.
Kamra shared the screenshot of a chat with a casting director of the show on his Instagram Stories. The message from the casting director read, “I am handling the casting for this season of Bigg Boss and your name came up as someone they might find interesting. I know it might not have been on your radar, but honestly, it’s such a mad platform to show your real vibe and win over a massive audience. What do you think? Should we talk about it?"
Kunal rejected his offer as he replied, “I would much rather check into a mental hospital…" While it is unclear whether he was approached for Bigg Boss OTT Season 4 or Bigg Boss 19, Kamra’s reply has sparked reactions online.
Recently, Kamra accused BookMyShow of removing his shows under political pressure. He tweeted, “Without the state’s cooperation, iconic shows like Coldplay and Guns N’ Roses wouldn’t be possible. I understand that BookMyShow needs to maintain a cordial relationship with the state, and I know that Mumbai is a major hub for live entertainment."
He added, “By not allowing artists to list their shows through their own websites, you’ve effectively prevented me from accessing the audience I’ve performed for from 2017 to 2025."
The ticketing platform replied to his accusations and wrote, “BookMyShow is a platform to facilitate the sale of tickets and operates the business with neutrality and in compliance with the applicable laws of India. Our role is to provide a platform for ticket sales of live shows and it is the decision of the organiser or the venue to list or delist their shows."
