Actress Kritika Kamra, who last appeared in Anubhav Sinha’s Bheed, is hogging headlines for her latest Prime Video series, Bambai Meri Jaan. In the latest, with the edge-of-the-seat thriller, the Excel Entertainment-based production has become the first-ever Indian OTT series to have an international premiere. Based on India Forums, the feat unfolded in London on 12 September, offering global audience a sneak-peek into the gripping world of the show ahead of its official release in India on Thursday, 14 September.
In an interview with the platform, Kritika Kamra announced that she is thrilled to be a part of crime-drama, Bambai Meri Jaan - a show that pushes the boundaries of storytelling in Indian content. On achieving the international premiere in London, she asserted, “It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. I can’t wait for audiences worldwide to experience this thrilling journey.”
A transformative experience
Kritika Kamra accepted that Bambai Meri Jaan , which is set against the backdrop of post-independence Bombay, is a show that pushes the boundaries of storytelling alongside challenging herself as an actor first. Shedding light on the crime thriller’s plot, she added, “Stepping into the shoes of a gangster in the post-independence era of Bombay has been a transformative experience. This character is unlike any I’ve played before, and it has allowed me to explore new dimensions of my craft.”
The Tandav famed actress further added that the feat signifies the growing global appeal of Indian content and the recognition of their efforts to create captivating narratives. Expressing ‘pride’ at what they have achieved, the 34-year-old added that she cannot wait for audiences worldwide to experience the thrilling, high-stakes world.
