Kolkata model’s 'rebellious' outfit for Durga Puja pandal sparks outrage on social media: 'Stop this type of vulgarity on...'

Hemoshree Bhadra, who claims to be the Miss Kolkata 2016 title winner, sparked controversy with her cleavage-baring crop top at a Durga Puja pandal in the city.

The model garnered severe criticism from netizens for donning an inappropriate outfit at the holy place and religious celebration.

She shared the pic on social media with two of her friends, with one wearing a long black gown with a thigh-high slit and another donning an orange minidress with knee-length boots.

Sannati Mitra, the model-influencer, who shared the pic on social media, wrote, “It was so Rebellious, we never thought it was possible, being a girl we always knew our body is ‘BAD’ but life is like that it gives new examples and experiences [sic].”

A netizen commented on the post, “I feel ashamed for her dressing in a holy place.” “Stop this type of vulgarity on puja mandap. This is shameful,” wrote another social media user.

“This is not women empowerment. This is making fun of our sanatan dharm and on top of it, your naked souls are wearing shoes and sandals during darshan inside a pandal,” a comment read.

“Sharam karlo thodi, bhagwan ke samne to acche kapde pehen lo (Have some shame, at least wear good clothes in front of God),” commented another user.

A user wrote, “Popularity ke liye ye log aur kitna girenge (How low will these people go for popularity)?” With another netizne adding, “No words to explain this nonsense. Our culture is heading towards the end.”
