Katrina Kaif, despite leaving an indelible mark in the entertainment industry, still strives for projects that establish her image as a talented actor instead of a glamorous diva. The actress is currently seeking challenges when it comes to her acting career as she wants to associate herself with projects through which she can bring something to the table. In a recent interview, Katrina reiterated her commitment to sign films offering depth and substance. The actress also revealed the reason behind why she signed her latest project, Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas saying that it presented her in a refreshing light.
In an interaction with Mid Day, Katrina Kaid said, “I want to portray myself in a new way. The reason behind that is that I don’t want to repeat myself too much anymore because, in certain scenarios, I am feeling bored of myself. If I am feeling bored of myself, I’m pretty sure the audience is going to be feeling bored. If I’m feeling repetitive, they’re going to feel it repetitive.”
Katrina, who is seeking challenges to add fresh experiences in her filmography, further explained, “That’s the instinct that I try to go by. It’s not out of trying to predict the future, its out of being genuine and honest to myself. In certain spaces, I’m questioning myself – ‘Am I feeling joy in this moment? Am I feeling alive here? Do I have something to give here?’ Something new to give to myself as an experience and something new to give to the film in that space.” The _Tiger 3_ actress went on to add that we all need to evolve and change over the years.
When asked about being a part of the Tiger franchise, Katrina said that it brings her joy as she loves the action genre, women-centric action films to be specific. for those unversed, Katrina Kaif’s Tiger 3 was a commercial hit. In the film, both Katrina and Salman Khan reprised their roles as Zoya and Tiger for a third time. Katrina’s last appearance was in the film Merry Christmas, headlined by Vijay Sethupathi. The film is gearing up for its OTT release soon and will be streaming on Netflix.
