Kareena Kapoor Khan has been a part of the Hindi film industry for 23 years. She has done a variety of work. In an interaction with Bollywood diva recently, she spoke about one of her most acclaimed films Omkara. She said, “Omkara happened. I have won awards for it, and it was a role I feel I nailed. But when you talk about Omkara, you only talk about Langda Tyagi [played by Saif Ali Khan], and you still go back to Poo and Geet.” She added, “I experimented with roles right from when I was 21. I did Chameli when I was 21. But people still want to go back to Poo or Geet.” On Laal Singh Chaddha In a way, it has not allowed the audience to know my versatility, but directors have. I still have worked with Vishal Bhardwaj, Govind Nihalani, Mani Ratnam, down to my last film, Laal Singh Chadha, where I tried to prove and break away from this whole pop culture, pretty hot and tempting, the pout or whatever.
Kareena Kapoor Khan on her famous roles as ‘Poo’ or ‘Geet’
Kareena Kapoor started her acting career in 2000 with J P Dutta’s film Refugee alongside debutant Abhishek Bachchan. Since then, many opportunities have come her way. The two characters she is most often associated with are ‘Poo’ from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and ‘Geet’ of _Jab We Met_. Looking at the current scenario, the actress often asks her husband, Saif Ali Khan, why can’t the audience remember her for her other roles.
Kareena Kapoor, who is currently enjoying her OTT debut with Sujoy Ghosh’s _Jaane Jaan_, was recently questioned by her co-actor Vijay Varma about the same. The Darlings star asked her about how she feels when from her ‘illustrious’ career, she is only recognised as Poo or Geet. On her part, Kareena Kapoor Khan replied that the two roles have restricted the audience’s perspective of her.
