The makers of Prabhas starrer highly-anticipated film Kalki 2898 AD have finally unveiled an intriguing poster, giving fans a new look at the lead actor. Taking to social media on Friday, 8 March, the character poster of Prabhas from the Nag Ashwin film was shared along with his character’s name. According to the latest update, Prabhas will be seen essaying the role of ‘Bhairava’. As makers continue to generate more excitement among fans with their updates, the latest poster hints at the director’s vision for the rustic dystopic, bringing together the concepts of Indian mythology and futuristic technology.

In the poster, Prabhas can be seen in a warrior-like look with an all-black ensemble completed with a cape. Not to miss, the actor also had tech-advanced glasses on his eyes as he remains seated inside a factory-type setting.

Prabhas shared the poster on his Instagram handle and wrote, “His name is…….‘BHAIRAVA’
#Kalki2898AD,” while the film’s official X handle shared the same with a caption that reads, “From the future streets of Kasi, Introducing ‘BHAIRAVA’ from #Kalki2898AD.”

As soon as the poster came out, fans wasted no time and took to the comment section to praise Prabhas’ new look. A fan wrote, “Rebel is Back,” while another one wrote, “Bhairava, you are the game changer of Indian cinema.”

“Man bun will be back on trend,” another one commented.

About Kalki 2898 AD

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film features Prabhas in the lead role, followed by stars like Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in prominent roles. While the film’s shooting is still said to be in progress, the current leg is reportedly underway in Italy.

Earlier in January this year, the makers unveiled a brand new poster, giving a glimpse into Prabhas’ character.

The film will be released on 9 May 2024.

While speaking about the film, director Nag Ashwin explained that it starts with Mahabharat and ends in 2898 AD, spanning 6,000 years in time. “We tried creating different worlds and not making it look like Blade Runner. 6,000 years behind 2898 AD is 3101 BCE, the time when Lord Krishna’s last avatar is believed to have passed,” she said at the Synapse 2024 event.
