Alia Bhatt is enjoying her sleep as her phone rings and her world comes crashing down. Her brother in South Korea is sent to jail and it’s up to her to race against time and bring him back to life. Director Vasan Bala stages some scenes the way only he can, like the actress attacking on everything she can possibly eat or threatening to slit her wrist because she thinks it’s practical.
And then we have Netflix’s The Archies Fame Vedang Raina who plays this brother trapped in an unforgiving world filled with grime and criminals. When he comes out, things wouldn’t be the same for him.
All set?

“Jigra” marks Bhatt’s second production venture via Eternal Sunshine Productions after 2022’s “ Darlings ”, which was released on Netflix. She was last seen in the streamer’s “Heart of Stone”, her Hollywood debut.
“Every day is a different day exciting, challenging (and a little scary) not just as an actor but also as a producer as we bring this film to life, and I CANNOT wait to share more as we move forward. JIGRA - in cinemas on 27th September 2024,” Alia wrote on social media last year exactly on this day when she announced the film.
From debuting in Dharma Productions’ 2012 film Student of the Year to now producing a film with the studio, Bhatt said life has come full circle for her.
Bala, known for “ Monica, O My Darling ” and “Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota”, penned a description of the film on his official Instagram account.
Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Bhatt and Somen Mishra are credited as producers on the upcoming project.
