In what came as unfortunate news for the audience, actress Dolly Sohi, popular for her role of Shrishti Mukherjee in the TV show Jhanak, succumbed to death earlier this morning. The 48-year-old actress has been battling cervical cancer since last year. What left everyone shocked was that Dolly died 48 hours after her sister Amandeep Sohi passed away who was not keeping well for a month due to jaundice.
Dolly’s brother Mannu Sohi, while confirming the news, told India Today that the family is devastated as they lost the sisters in a matter of few hours. Sharing further, he informed that Dolly’s funeral would be held in the afternoon. Mannu was quoted by the news portal as saying, “Dolly passed away around 4am this morning. Both, Dolly and Amandeep were admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Mumbai. Amandeep passed away yesterday and now Dolly. We are completely devastated.”
Meanwhile, to inform about Dolly’s death, her family also issued a statement that read “Our beloved Dolly has left for her heavenly abode today early morning. We are in a state of shock with the loss. The final rites shall be conducted this afternoon. Will share further details.”
As per the reports, Dolly was taken to the hospital following respiratory problems. Unfortunately, her condition didn’t improve, leading to her death. A day before the same, the family had confirmed the death of Dolly’s sister and _Badtameez Dil_ fame actress Amandeep Sohi.
Meanwhile, Dolly Sohi is survived by a daughter, named Amelie. She was separated from her husband Avneet Dhanowa. Reflecting on how she revealed her diagnosis to her daughter, Dolly had earlier told Etimes, “It was very difficult to talk to my daughter Amelia about it. She was just 14 years old, and when I received the diagnosis, I started giving her hints and told her that Miu, mummy was going to be fine and that she would get well soon. Later when I shared it with her, I made her understand that it is curable and I will be fine. Slowly she began to take it normally and she is better.”
