Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa might not be returning to the small screen for its 10th season. The desi dance reality show fashioned on the popular Dancing With The Stars was said to have grand plans for its decade celebration. However, now it might be completely wiped out from the Colors television roster. [caption id=“attachment_3877585” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Poster of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Image from Facebook.[/caption] In what can well be described as a pattern that is followed by the channel, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’s usually precedes Salman Khan-hosted reality TV show Bigg Boss. This time, however, it is reported that Khan has already begun working on the promos and teasers of Bigg Boss 11, whereas there is still no sign of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. It has been previously reported that Bigg Boss 11 will go on air three weeks earlier than last year since Colors is not planning to start with another season of India’s Got Talent. Khan started shooting for the show a few weeks after his last release Tubelight, by director Kabir Khan. In October, Bigg Boss 11 will allegedly replace Rohit Shetty’s Khatron Ke Khiladi that is currently on air, leaving no slot available for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, according to a Mumbai Mirror report. Jhalak’s previous season saw Jacqueline Fernandez make her small screen debut as a judge on the panel of the dance reality show. Karan Johar, and choreographer Ganesh Hegde rounded off the panel, with filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan replacing Hegde in the latter half of the season. There are however contradictory reports from Bollywood Life that the show might in fact still be returning with Sridevi, Malaika Arora Khan and Govinda joining the judging panel in a last ditch attempt to increase the TRPs and keep the show alive. The channel has also introduced a brand new show called India Banega Manch that will be hosted by Krushna Abhishek and Mona Singh, rounding up the weekend slot before Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Jhalak Dhikhhla reportedly might get scrapped due to Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 11 airing earlier, leaving the dance show with no slot.
