Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is currently busy shattering records at the box office. The film has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark in India and the Rs 1000 crore mark in the global market. While it is on its way of becoming the highest Bollywood grosser of all time, Atlee revealed that he was approached by Hollywood filmmakers after the release of Jawan. “People who worked on our film (Jawan) were from Hollywood. Action director Spiro Razatos worked with us. So, Spiro and other great directors and technicians from Hollywood were at the same screening of _Jawan_. And, Spiro said, ‘I have done action in this film,’” said Atlee while having a conversation with Film Companion.
The Theri helmer further revealed that it was the action-packed introduction scene of SRK as Vikram Rathore, which garnered love from the “great directors and technicians.” “So, they (directors and technicians) asked Spiro who has done that scene where SRK is engulfed in flames. He (Spiro) said, ‘It was the director’s (Atlee) vision and he (Atlee) executed it,’” added the filmmaker. He continued, “So they immediately connected with me and told me, ‘If you want to work in Hollywood, let us know.’” In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, Atlee opened up about his nature of filmmaking and said, “I always stick to root. I stick to basics and that is my secret and my core ideology. Without a root a tree or a branch can’t stand. My roots are the masses and basic emotions and that’s how I am able to commit and make something that reaches the hearts of the masses. I try to connect with the emotions of the masses and that is how I end up making a massy film.”
