After a record-breaking extended opening weekend, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan maintained a solid grip on its first Monday at the box office. As per the early estimates, the massy-actioner has earned around Rs 28 crore to Rs 30 crore yesterday, which takes its Hindi version to Rs 280 crore, while the inclusion of Tamil and Telugu versions takes its collections to Rs 312 crore. The collections would have gone up to Rs 40 crore but it was affected by India Vs Pakistan match yesterday.

With its Hindi collections, _Jawan_ has already trumped biggies like RRR (Rs 274.31), Kabir Singh (Rs 278.24 crore) and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (Rs 279.55 crore). The film will surpass the business of Dhoom 3 (Rs 284.27 crore), Sultan (Rs 300.45 crore) and Padmaavat (Rs 302.15 crore) to emerge as the 11th highest grosser of all time. Since there are no biggies arriving at the box office for some time, Jawan will be a one-horse race at the ticket windows and is expected to be the third film to cross the Rs 500 crore mark in 2023 after Pathaan and Baahubali 2. Directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, the film also features Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, and Sunil Grover along with a cameo from Deepika Padukone. Talking about the review, Firstpost gave the film 4 stars and wrote, “Atlee, known to be a massy director, gives the audiences exactly what they want. He and also our favourite SRK knows exactly how to get the audiences back to the theatres. They provide what the audience demands, which is a true masala potboiler with a hidden meaning. I won’t say this was SRK’s best performance, Pathaan was undoubtedly better. But the finesse with which he carries his age is remarkable. Again, this is different too as he is portraying multiple characters.” Read all the Latest News, Trending News, Cricket News, Bollywood News, India News and Entertainment News here.
