Despite the arrival of new releases like Fukrey 3 and The Vaccine War, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan continues its dominance at the box office. Talking about the Hindi version of the film, it currently stands with a grand total of Rs 524 and will surpass the lifetime business of Pathaan (Rs 524.53 crore) and Gadar 2 (Rs 525 crore*) to emerge as the highest Bollywood grosser of all time.

The extended weekend will help the new releases along with Jawan to fetch good numbers. In fact, the latter has complete potential to cross the Rs 550 crore mark in this week. With two back-to-back 1000 crore club films in the same year, SRK has emerged as the first megastar to achieve this kind of feat in the history of Indian cinema. And with Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki release in December, we can expect SRK to deliver another global blockbuster in 2023. _Jawan_ marks the Bollywood directorial debut of Atlee, who has delivered Tamil blockbusters like Theri, Bigil and Mersal (all featuring Thalapathy Vijay) along with Nayanthara and Arya’s Raja Rani. Also starring Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani and Deepika Padukone (in a cameo), the music of the film is composed by Anirudh. It is produced under the banner of SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
Talking about the review, Firstpost gave the film 4 stars and wrote, “Atlee, known to be a massy director, gives the audiences exactly what they want. He and also our favourite SRK knows exactly how to get the audiences back to the theatres. They provide what the audience demands, which is a true masala potboiler with a hidden meaning. I won’t say this was SRK’s best performance, Pathaan was undoubtedly better. But the finesse with which he carries his age is remarkable. Again, this is different too as he is portraying multiple characters.”
