Miss Universe owner Raul Rocha may have experienced a roller-coaster over the last few weeks amid all the chaos and controversy that hounded the contest. It’s no news that Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch was crowned 74th Miss Universe days after Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly called her ‘dummy’. There have been many other stories that surfaced on the Internet for all the wrong reasons.
Amid this, Rocha has issued a shocking statement that reads- “This is like a test, like a relay race. Who do I pass the baton to?” Reports say he plans to sell his stakes but also asks ‘Who should I pass on the baton to?’
“It’s just that I’m so fed up. I’m so fed up with all the talk. I don’t lend myself to that kind of thing. They want to come and tell you what decisions you make, how you make them, why you hire people, why you take away people and why you add people.”
Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch was recently called a ‘dummy’ and that too publicly by event organizer Nawat Itsaragrisil in Bangkok. She stood up for herself and raised her voice against the tasteless remarks. And now, the beauty queen has been crowned the 74th Miss Universe and fans and social media users have reactions.
Fatima wrote on Instagram while sharing a video from the ceremony- “Because every step you take leads to something greater, and fighting for your dreams while believing in yourself will always be worth it.”
Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch booed by the crowd
However, many people expressed their disappointment and didn’t exactly cheer for the beauty queen as she was crowned Miss Universe. In fact, former judge Omar Harfouch alleged the result was fraudulent, claiming the winner Fátima Bosch was selected by an impromptu and undisclosed jury.
The controversy and chaos
The Miss Universe 2025 edition held in Thailand was making noise on social media but for all the wrong reasons. Several models, including Miss Universe Mexico, staged a walk out after the organizer of the show Nawat Itsaragrisil reportedly berated Mexico’s beauty queen Fátima Bosch. The episode snowballed into massive controversy and the organizer has even issued a statement.
Fátima Bosch breaks silence
I just want to let my country know, I’m not afraid to make my voice heard. It’s here stronger than ever. I have a purpose. I have things to say. We’re in the 21st century. I’m not a doll to be made up, styled and have my clothes changed. I came here to be a voice for all the women and all the girls who fight for causes and to tell my country that I’m completely committed to that.
