The talented and versatile actress of the industry, who featured in Gangs of Wasseypur, Ek Thi Daayan, Jolly LLB 2, Kaala, Valimai and others, recently shared her thoughts on pay parity in the film industry.
In an interview with AfterHours with All About Eve, Huma Qureshi was asked whether the actors are paid based on their screentime, to which she replied, “The conventional way is: the bigger the star, the more money they take home, oftentimes, even when their screen time is shorter and their roles are smaller."
The _Monica, O My Darling_ actress later spoke about Alia Bhatt as she assumed, she was the highest-paid actress in Gangubai Kathiawadi. “Alia Bhatt will draw more money than others even if her part is small. I am assuming that she was the highest-paid actor in Gangubai Kathiawadi,” said Qureshi.
In the same interview, she defended Deepika Padukone after she faced backlash for talking about dating others while being with Ranveer Singh in Koffee With Karan season 8. “Ab kya bol sakte hai, (what can we say) ridiculous…We are supposed to present a kind of palatable…I guess, something they are expecting.
