Himesh Reshammiya and Prabhudheva need to concentrate only on singing and dancing because acting isn’t everybody’s cup of tea and especially when you are catering for today’s evolved cinema understanding audiences.

Himesh Reshammiya, Prabhudheva Badass Ravi Kumar Movie Review

Director: Keith Gomes

Cast: Himesh Reshammiya, Prabhudheva, Kirti Kulhari, Sunny Leone, Simona J

Cinema is art and not trash. Wonder who watches these films and also I wonder why people make such movies? 80s style narration, but why and who is the audience for this kind of film? 2025 has started with a string of bad theatrical releases and Himesh Reshammiya and Prabhudheva’s Badass Ravi Kumar, I would rate as one of the worst so far. A completely link less disjointed film.

Not even asking for logic, but action films are serious business and Badass Ravi Kumar looks like some kind of mockery going on in the name of action and entertainment. And if anybody ever says that Himesh Reshammiya has a good screen presence, he/she needs to rethink.

The story _Badass Ravi Kumar_ goes this way, set in 1989. Ravi Kumar (Himesh Reshammiya) is a badass cop based in Delhi and he is out on a mission to eradicate corruption from our system. He is suspended from his service because he doesn’t go by rules and is politically incorrect. Syed Bashir (Manish Wadhwa), Pedro (Prabhu Dheva) and Laila (Kirti Kulhari) are all running behind a camera reel which contains information about Indian secret agents. The police headquarters in Delhi want to get hold of these people.  Commissioner Awasthi (Saurabh Sachdeva) suggests Ravi Kumar for the job, but since he is suspended from police forces, he is sent unofficially to Muscat.

A still from Badass Ravi Kumar movie

The movie is all about the power of this man Ravi Kumar, but does Himesh Reshammiya, who is hardly an actor, deserve so much screen time? I hate to run down the effort of any filmmaker, but here I don’t see a single ounce of effort being put into making even a decent one- time watch film. Absolute nonsensical, chest thumping patriotism which makes no sense.

There is a typical love triangle too in the film, when two sisters Laila (Kirti Kulhari) and Madhubala (Simona J) are head over heels in love with Ravi Kumar (Himesh Reshammiya), but Ravi loves just one of them. Nothing complex, nothing logical and nothing masaladar in this film. Too many characters, too many plots, gun giggles, ugly smell of blood and a holy mess! Most importantly, there isn’t any story. So, why would we watch it and waste our money and precious time?
