Govinda’s secretary Shashi Prabhu passed away at his residence Niranjan Society, Chikuwadi, Borivali West. The actor reached his home to console the family members and he was crying. Funeral took place at 10 pm on March 6.
The catch here is that Shashi was his former secretary. Govinda’s current secretary Shashi Sinha has cleared the confusion. Shashi Sinha told news agency IANS, “I have been receiving numerous condolences messages and calls on my phone since the false news of my death circulated.”
“Since I share the same name as Govinda’s old friend and former secretary Shashi Prabhu, the confusion led to this false news. Shashi Prabhu was his secretary at the time of Ilzaam, after that, I have been looking after this work,” he added.
Shashi Sinha also gave an interview to ETimes and said, “He was Govinda’s childhood friend. From the very beginning, they shared a close bond, and for many years, he also worked for Govinda. I got to know him later. But during Govinda’s early struggles, he was like a brother to him. Govinda loved him like a brother, and their relationship remains the same to this day.”
The divorce rumours of Govinda and Sunita Ahuja spread like wildfire on social media. While many reports suggested that the duo is ending their 37 years of marriage, the Hero No. 1 star has finally reacted.
“These are only business talks going…I am in the process of starting my films," said Govinda while talking to ETimes. On the other hand, actor’s manager Sashi Sinha quoted, “There have been issues between the couple due to certain statements made by certain members from the family. There is nothing more to it and Govinda is in process of starting a film for which artists are visiting our office. We are trying to resolve it."
