Genie, you're free: Twitterati pay rich tributes to Robin Williams

Robin Williams, Academy Award winner and comic supernova who dazzled audiences for decades, died on Monday in an apparent suicide at the age of 63. Williams was pronounced dead at his San Francisco Bay Area home Monday, according to the sheriff’s office in Marin County, north of San Francisco. The sheriff’s office said the preliminary investigation shows the cause of death to be a suicide due to asphyxia. The Marin County coroner’s office said Williams was last been seen alive at home at about 10 pm on Sunday. An emergency call from his house in Tiburon was placed to the Sheriff’s Department shortly before noon Monday. AP[/caption] Williams is best remembered for his role in the hit television shot Mork & Mindy, films like Dead Poet’s Society, Goodwill Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam, Aladdin (where was the voice of the genie), Mrs Doubtfire, Patch Adams, Jumanji to name a few. On Twitter and Facebook, tributes are pouring in for Robin Williams with the hashtag #RIPRobinWilliams trending as the number one trend on Twitter. From Barack Obama, to Ellen DeGeneres to Rihanna, everyone paid rich tributes to the actor who is etched on our memories with some great roles.  The fact that he was struggling with depression was also noted by many on Twitter.
