Gautam Rode, Pankhuri Awasthy, stars of historical TV show Suryaputra Karn, get married in Alwar, Rajasthan

After Ashka Goradia , and Bharti Singh , it is Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy who have tied the knot in a grand wedding on Monday at Tijara Fort Palace resort in Alwar, Rajasthan. Pankhuri announced the beginning of the pre-wedding functions through an Instagram post.

Though the couple, who got engaged around Diwali last year, had earlier kept their relationship undercover, the pictures of their grand wedding are ruling the internet. The couple met on the sets of Suryaputra Karn in 2015. In spite of having an age gap of 14 years, the couple are known to have shared a brilliant chemistry since the beginning. Gautam too posted a picture from the shagan ceremony.

Mumbai Mirror reports that the wedding ceremony started off on Sunday, with mehndi and sangeet functions. The next day, the couple performed the haldi ceremony and later in the evening, they exchanged vows. They danced to the tunes of ‘ Dil Diyan Gallan ’ from Salman Khan’s latest film Tiger Zinda Hai. Even the parents of the couple were seen dancing to the tunes of Rajasthani dhols. The fans of the duo flooded the social media with the pictures from the event.

  In the mehendi ceremony, Pankhuri wore a bright pink lehnga. During haldi, Pankhuri donned an orange lehnga in contrast with Gautam who wore a natural beige kurta and teamed it up with an orange dhoti. On the wedding day, Pankhuri wore a red-golden lehnga and Gautam complemented her with an embroidered cream silk sherwani.
