Popular Israeli actress, who has been part of films like Wonder Woman, Fast & Furious franchise and others, is garnering severe criticism for reportedly organising a screening of graphic footage of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel for her Hollywood colleagues in the US. The 47 minutes of uncensored footage, titled ‘Bearing Witness to the October 7th Massacre’ will be shown at the event. The footage, which is collected by the IDF, has already been shown to UK journalists in London last week. The worst of the attacks, perhaps, was launched at a music festival in Israel. In a televised address at the time, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu called the attack “murderous.” As per The Jewish Chronicle, Gadot has invited 120 prominent Hollywood figures for the initial screening. While more screenings will be scheduled in the coming days, usage of phones for filming will be strictly prohibited. The footage was brought to the UD by Oscar-winning director Guy Nattiv, who previously credited Gal and her husband Yaron Varsano for ‘making this possible’.
While the date and guestlist of the screening has not been revealed, it has already garnered attention globally. Quds News Network recently shared the news about the screening on their X account, and we saw several fans criticising Gal Gadot for her decision. While one user said, “Oh her career is so over,” another commented, “Boycott every celebrity who goes to this screening. Every single one of them,” and a third wrote, “And that’s why I’ve never watched anything this IDF reserve soldier acted in.” “One of my fav actresses turns into one of my hated actresses,” wrote one netizen. Another social media user commented, “not so Wonderwoman-like after all”. “Please don’t let her get away with this,” wrote a user.
