Her ability to convey a wide range of emotions with subtlety and grace captivates audiences, making her a strong contender for a National Award. A very complex character set in a thriller that Yami once again effortlessly played with ease for the audience to enjoy. She definitely makes a case for this female star who shouldered this film to success, with critical acclaim and box office win.
Another one that could be a contender amongst male stars is Fahadh Faasil. His role in “Avesham” showcases his remarkable versatility as an actor. He brings a profound intensity to his character, even if it’s comedy, he navigates intricate emotional landscapes with ease. His commitment to his craft is evident in every scene, as he immerses himself fully into the role, creating a memorable and impactful performance worthy of national recognition. His performance as the colourful Ranjith “Ranga” Gangadharan got everyone cheering and whistling in the aisles.
Each of these actors has demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication in their respective roles, contributing significantly to the films’ successes. Having said this, it nowhere means the other stars did any less this year but with these three underrated yet powerful acts, would definitely be in the landscape of subject-drive, strong performances of 2024 with Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam cinema building a case for the coveted National Awards.
