Shrivastava also confirmed the same with Mirror and said he did not wish to be credited as director because he was excluded from approving the edit, the background music as well as other issues. He admitted that it was not an easy decision to opt out of the directorial after the film's completion.

"But after the first edit, I wasn’t aware of what was happening with the film. I was not on set when a new song '(Chamma Chamma' from China Gate will be remade featuring Elli Avram) was shot. I watched a show three-four days ago. I would not like to comment on what I thought of it, all I'm saying is that this is not my film," he told Mirror.

When contacted, producers Disha Prakash Jha and Kanishk Gangwal said that they were surprised by Shrivastava's comments and had no idea what motivated him to opt out of the film.

The teaser of the film was shared by Prakash via his official social media handle.

In the film, Arshad Warsi's character will reportedly have 13 wives. The first poster, which was released on 6 December shows the actor wearing the traditional wedding turban and sherwani with a garland of currency notes around his neck and a casket full of jewellery beside his seat. Several women surround the grinning Warsi as each of them pull at the protagonist's gathbandhan. On the poster is written, "Sab mard kutte nahi hain" (All men are not dogs)

Fraud Saiyyan will be hitting the screens on 18 January.
