The culture district of Jeddah is in festive mood as the city is all decked up for the Red Sea International Film Festival 2024. This year, the festival returns to Jeddah’s historic Al Balad district, after two editions at the Ritz-Carlton while the headquarters for its parent body the Red Sea Film Foundation were being built.
The Red Sea International Film Festival starts tonight and the city is all geared up for one of the mega cinema events in the world.
The festival will open with Egyptian director Karim Shenawy’s The Tale Of Daye’s Family (aka Light) about an 11-year-old Nubian albino boy with a beautiful voice, who faces adversity due to his unique appearance.
The Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) has announced additional speakers appearing In Conversation at the fourth edition of the Festival, running in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from December 5th - 14th 2024. The programme welcomes special guests from all over the world to share insights and have meaningful discussions about their practice, passions and stories with fans, cinema lovers and industry executives through its In Conversation With and Souk Talents strands.
New In Conversation With speakers include a session on Saudi Pioneers with actor and poet Ibrahim Alhasawi and actor Moshal Almutairi, and fireside chats with Academy Award nominee and Red Sea Honouree Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer), award-winning actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Heads of State), actor and singer Nick Jonas (Power Ballad), and Red Sea Honouree Aamir Khan (Dangal), actor and director Olivia Wilde (Don’t Worry Darling, Booksmart), and Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
