Fatima Sana Shaikh on Anurag Basu's multi-starrer: Was so excited that I didn't care about the script
Apart from Fatima Sana Shaikh, the ensemble cast of Anurag Basu's film consists of Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi.
Fatima Sana Shaikh has been cast in Anurag Basu's upcoming multi-starrer, confirm reports. Talking about coming on board, Shaikh stated that being part of an Anurag Basu film was a no-brainer for the actress.
Out of the four short features in the film, Fatima Sana Shaikh, will feature as the female lead in one, opposite Rajkummar Rao. Fatima says that she was so excited to hear that Basu was developing the film and had Shaikh in mind, that she did not care about the script when the offer came her way. "There are some directors whose worlds you simply wish to be part of," adds the Dangal star. This list of directors also includes names such as Rajkumar Hirani and Sanjay Leela Bhansali whose films she said she would "shut my eyes and say yes to."
There were recent reports that this particular project would be a sequel to Life In A... Metro, but Basu clarified that though this film will also have parallel stories, it would not be a sequel to his 2006 film.
In an interaction with Mumbai Mirror, Basu said that the ensemble cast would consist of Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi. Further, he said that the release date of the film would only be decided after the film is wrapped up.
