Anurag Basu confirms Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao film isn't a sequel to Life In a... Metro
Anurag Basu confirmed that his yet-untitled film would feature of an ensemble cast consisting of Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi.

Anurag Basu's yet-untitled film with Abhishek Bachchan had engendered several rumours that the project would be a sequel to his hit film Life In a... Metro. Now, the director has confirmed that despite having multiple plots, the film would not be a sequel to his 2007 anthology film.

In an interaction with Mumbai Mirror, Basu said that the ensemble cast would consist of Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi. Further, he said that the genre and plot of the film is different from Life In a... Metro, adding that the release date of the film would only be decided after the film is wrapped up.
Basu will also team up with Kangana Ranaut for the third time in Imali, after Gangster and Life in a... Metro. However, he stated that the project would only begin once both the actor and Basu completed their scheduled films.

The other film that is in pipeline for the filmmaker is a biopic on Kishore Kumar, where Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of the singer-actor-director. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Basu said that the screenplay and the script, after rigorous research, is ready.
Basu will be mark his return to television with talent hunt show Super Dance, where he will serve as a judge.
