Sonu Sood turned out a real hero during the COVID-19 phase because of his humanitarian work. The Simmba star helped people across the country with transportation and food during the lockdown period when the country was at a standstill.
Sonu arranged buses, flights and other means of transport to help people in the tough phase. Due to his noble work, the actor got offers from several political parties. In fact, some of them didn’t just offer him a ticket to run for elections but also lured him with posts like CM and Deputy CM. However, he quashed all the offers.

“I was even offered the position of Chief Minister. When I turned it down, they suggested, ‘Why not Deputy Chief Minister?’ Some of the most influential people in the country were behind these offers, including a seat in the Rajya Sabha. They said, ‘Join us, you don’t need to fight elections, just be with us,’” recalled Sonu while talking to Humans of Bombay.
Sharing reasons for declining this offer, he said, “Politics, for many, is about gaining wealth or power. Neither of those things interest me. I’m already helping people in my own way, without needing to answer to anyone. If I were in politics, I’d be accountable to someone, and that’s something that scares me. I like my freedom to help others without any strings attached.”
In the same interview, the actor said he might think of taking a different route later in his life. “Maybe, one day, when I feel I’ve accomplished everything in this field (acting), I’ll think about other paths. But for now, I’m focused on acting and directing, and that’s where my heart lies,” shared the Dabangg star.
