Farah Khan on earnings from her YouTube channel: 'One year has gone by just paying off Dilip's debt and...'

Farah Khan’s cook Dilip seems to be the new social media sensation that keeps going viral. Here’s everything you need to know about him.

The star cook reportedly drives a BMW, owns a swanky apartment in Darbhanga, and earns over a lac per month. He is from Bihar and now works with Farah Khan as her cook and keeps accompanying her to celebrity houses for her vlogs. He has been working with the filmmaker and choreographer for over a decade. But Dilip was under a lot of debt as per the filmmaker who spilled the beans on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast.

Farah revealed, “He had a lot of debt, I don’t know from where, so one year has gone by just paying off his debt and telling him that he cannot take a loan on interest anymore because whatever I am giving him is going down a well. So I have cleared all his debts, and now he’s building his house.”

The filmmaker added, “I am trying to get many brands involved so that we give him the house for free.”

On her movies not happening

Farah Khan said, “Even when my movie wasn’t happening, when I wasn’t directing, I said chal (come on), let me do YouTube, because I could see the skew. Also, I have three kids who are going to university next year, and that’s bloody expensive. So I just said for a lark, let me start a show on YouTube - and that just clicked.”

On her YouTube channel

“It’s my channel so I can do what I want. There’s no OTT channel or no production house saying that we will have to cut this. And there is no TV channel saying you can only bring this guest on, which I used to hate. I used to hate that this one is an A-lister and this one is tacky,” she said.
