“The Bear” came back for seconds in a big way at the Emmys, scoring repeat wins Sunday night four times including best actor, best supporting actor and best supporting actress in a comedy, while British upstart “Baby Reindeer” won four of its own, including best limited series.
However, the start of the awards ceremony was delayed due to some protesters. Many pro-Palestinian protesters took to the streets in downtown Los Angeles. The streets that lead to the Peacock Theater where the awards were being held were blocked by the protestors that demanded #FreePalestine. They carried placards that read ‘No justifying the murder of children’ according to Variety.
And Deadline reported there were about 35 of them.
Stars presenting Emmys to their peers included: Kathy Bates, Billy Crystal, Viola Davis, Giancarlo Esposito, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, Maya Rudolph, Dick Van Dyke and Martin Sheen.
Several actors and shows, including Rudolph, are already winners. Rudolph won her sixth Emmy Award at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys for her voice work on “Big Mouth.” Jamie Lee Curtis also picked up a supporting actress Emmy last weekend for her appearance on “The Bear” and “Shogun” set a single season record for most wins with 14, a lead it looks to expand.
