Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Patani has finally reacted to the recent firing at their Civil Lines home in Bareilly, which is linked to his elder daughter Khushboo Patani’s remarks.
He said that her comments had been “misrepresented,” and clarified that his daughter’s statement was wrongly connected to spiritual leader Premanand Ji Maharaj.
“…Khushboo (sister of actor Disha Patani) was misrepresented. Her name was dragged into the matter of Premanand Ji Maharaj. We are Sanatanis, and we respect the sadhus and saints. If someone is misrepresenting her statement, it is a conspiracy to demean us…” Jagdish told ANI.
Aniruddhacharya was criticised by Khushboo after he said that women who are unmarried at 25 or older are usually promiscuous. Later, she clarified on Instagram that her comments had been taken out of context and falsely circulated as being directed at Premanand Ji Maharaj.
Police confirmed that two men on motorbike opened fire at actress’ Bareilly house on Friday morning.
“We received information about the firing at retired CO Jagdish Patani’s residence by two unidentified motorbike-borne assailants. Police teams were immediately sent to the site. An FIR has been registered at the Kotwali police station under various sections. Armed police personnel have been deployed for the protection of the family members,” said SSP Bareilly, Anurag Arya.
“We will take strict action against the accused. I personally met with the family and have assured them of their safety,” he said.
In a Facebook post, Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar gang has claimed responsibility for the firing.
It read, “I, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Saran (Delana). Brothers, today the firing that took place at Khushboo Patna / Disha Patna (Bollywood actress)’s house (villa number 40, Civil Lines Bareilly, U.P.) we had this carried out. She had insulted our revered saints (Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj). She tried to demean our Sanatan Dharma.”
“The insult of our worshipped deities will not be tolerated. This was just a trailer. If next time again she or someone else shows any obscenity toward our religion, we will not leave anyone alive from their house. This message is not only for her but for all the artists of the film world and the people associated with them. Whoever in the future commits any such insulting act regarding our religion and saints, be prepared to face its consequences. If we have to go to any extent to protect our religion, we are ready for that. We will never back down. For us, religion and the whole society are always one; protecting them is our foremost duty,” concluded the note.
