The legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was reported to have undergone an angioplasty after his hospitalisation recently. The reports of the actor dealing with ill health left his fans worried and they flooded the social media platforms with enquiries about his condition. Now, the actor has come out refuting the claims calling them “fake news”. In a video surfaced on the Internet recently, the actor seemingly dismissed the reports.
On Friday evening, the veteran actor was captured with his son, Abhishek Bachchan, at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane where he reached to attend the final match of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) between Majhi Mumbai vs Tigers of Kolkata. Amitabh’s appearance at the stadium came hours after reports of his hospital visit surfaced. As the Uunchai actor exited the stadium, the paparazzo asked him about his health. In response to the same, Amitabh, first, gestured with his hands to convey that he was fine. Then, the actor leaned in and said, “Fake news”. As the video proceeded, the actor smiled, nodded, and left with his son, Abhishek.
Amitabh Bachchan ’s clarification comes after the reports circulated on Friday afternoon suggesting that he had visited Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for a routine check. The reports also suggested that he underwent the angioplasty for either a clot in his leg or a blocked artery.
Amid reports of him being hospitalised, the actor also shared a post on his Instagram handle. Amitabh shared a photo featuring him with his son Abhishek Bachchan and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar from the ISPL 2024 final and accompanied by a short write-up that read, “What a humbling experience t his evening at the ISPL FINALS to have spent time with the GREAT SACHIN .. and to learn and admire his incredible knowledge about Cricket.”
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan is currently working on Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. Besides this, he will grace the silver screens with films including Section 84 and the Hindi remake of The Intern in his pipeline.
