Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s divorce grabbed several headlines during its proceedings. Post that, both celebs were seen taking digs at each other. The cricketer was seen donning a T-shirt that read “Be your own sugar daddy” amid their separation.
Dhanashree garnered severe trolling with social media giving her the tag of a “gold digger.” Now, the dancer and choreographer has revealed why she chose to stay silent on this matter on Ashneer Grover-hosted reality show Rise and Fall.
“I didn’t want to touch up on a few things at all. There are two people, and if some fight happens between us, one person is saying that let’s end this, that happened, okay? Then stay on the same lane, why do you need to create something… everyone has to maintain self-respect, and when you are in a marriage, you need to keep the respect of the other person also intact. I could have also disrespected him. You don’t think I have things to say as a woman? But he was my husband, I respected him even when I was married, and I have to respect the fact that I was married to him. If you want to show yourself as a good person, then show it through your work, why put somebody else down to clean your own image,” she said.
When asked if she turned cynical for love post her divorce, she responded, “I’m not cynical, that’s a harsh word, but I’m not interested.”
In one of the earlier episodes, during a fun conversation between Arjun Bijlani and Dhanashree, the former said, “Dekho, mujhe diamond, silver thoda suit nahi karta. Mujhe gold suit karta hai.” Verma reflected her trolling incident and responded and laughingly said, “Yeh line toh main bol nahi sakti. Agar maine yeh line bol di toh jo mujhe pyaar milne wala hoga who bhi nahi milega.”
