Deepfake Videos: Sachin Tendulkar's daughter Sara Tendulkar becomes the next target, says 'Disconcerting to see…'

Rashmika Mandanna, Kajol, Katrina Kaif, all three have been victims of the new online menace called Deepfake. It’s the video of a person in which their face or body has been digitally altered so that they appear to be someone else, typically used maliciously or to spread false information.

The new victim is Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar. And taking to her Instagram story, she shared a note with fans that read- “Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality.”

“A few accounts on X (formerly Twitter) have obviously been created with an intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them,” she added while urging X to take action.

“Entertainment should never come at the expense of the truth. Let’s encourage communication that’s based on trust and reality,” she further added.

Is Sara making her Bollywood debut?

She is expected to make her Bollywood debut shortly, according to rumours. Sara, 24, had already made a name for herself as a model for the worldwide brand Self-Portrait. Sara is a University College London graduate who had planned to follow in her mother’s footsteps as a pediatrician. However, with rumours of a Bollywood debut, it appears Sara is following a different path altogether.

Arjun, her younger brother, is a cricketer who plays for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL and has also represented Mumbai in the local circuit. Sara is rumoured to be making her Bollywood debut shortly. She’s always been interested in performing and has even attended some acting classes while doing brand endorsements. Sara, who usually keeps a low profile, can surprise the audience with her acting abilities. Her parents are incredibly supportive of whatever decision she makes because she is extremely talented.
