Backed by Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg, and Bhushan Kumar, De De Pyaar De 2 will be releasing on May 1, 2025. Recently, the production house of filmmaker Luv Ranjan, popular for his films like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Tu Jhoothi Mai Makkar, announced the release date of Ajay Devgn’s film with a post. The post featured a picture mentioning the release date, the name of the director, and the producers of the upcoming film. Notably, De De Pyaar De 2 will be helmed by Anshul Sharma. Anshul, earlier, directed Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga, starring Sanjay Mishra and Pragati Pandey. He is also known for working as an Assistant Director in films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and No Smoking. Additionally, Luv Ranjan will be collaborating with Tarun Jain to write an apt story for the film.
Not long ago, Pinkvilla had quoted a source as saying, “The writers of De De Pyaar De Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain have come up with a script that acts as an apt sequel to the film and, in fact, takes things a notch higher on the conflict front.” He added, “While the first part dealt with Ashish’s (Ajay Devgn) side of the family to accept his relationship with 26-year-old Ayesha Khurana (Rakul Preet Singh), the sequel is about the reaction of Ayesha’s family to the relationship with a 50-year-old.”
De De Pyaar De, directed by Akiv Ali, marked the return of Ajay Devgn in the rom-com space. The film won appreciation for its story with its modern approach and portrayal of complexities in a relationship.
