Amid the kiss cam scandal involving Astronomer’s ex-CEO Andy Byron and ex-HR chief Kristin Cabot, the company has hired Coldplay singer Chris Martin’s ex-wife and Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow as ‘temporary spokesperson’.
Astronomer was called ‘genius’ and ‘savage’ on social media for the humorous clip featuring Coldplay singer Chris Martin’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

In the new video, shared on Astronomer’s official X handle, Gwyneth says she is hired on a “very temporary basis” as the company’s spokesperson.
She continues, “Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days and they wanted me to answer the most common ones.”
“Thank you for your interest in Astronomer. I’ve been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer,” she says in the video.
Reacting to this hiring, one user commented, “Guys, this is a PR masterclass. You take the most viral moment of July 2025 and, instead of disaster control, make light of the situation and create the ultimate brand awareness. Bravo.”
“You hired the Coldplay singer’s ex-wife. Extraordinary,” another individual posted. “Masterclass in turning a crazy situation into the right form of attention while providing everyone a laugh. Well done,” commented another netizen.
“Hiring the ex-wife of the lead Coldplay singer to deliver this message is absolutely savage. Oh my goodness,” wrote another user.
After being marring for more than 10 years, in 2014, Martin and Paltrow announced they were “consciously uncoupling.” The duo remained close friends despite divorce. “I think Chris and I were meant to be together and have our kids,” Paltrow told as per a report by People and added, “But our relationship is much better like this: friends and co-parents and family.”
The actress remarried writer-producer Brad Falchuk in 2018.
