Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar, who made her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan and later featured in the blockbuster web series Mirzapur, reacted to rumours of her being adopted by parents and legendary actors Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

“No, I’m not adopted. There was news going around out of nowhere that my parents had adopted me and that’s absolutely untrue. This is not even something that I need to justify because I’m not going to flash my birth certificate on Instagram to prove my point. But yes, this was absolutely amusing as it’s not true, but other than that, no other scandals have been reported about me,” Shriya told India Today.

In an interview with Firstpost, Shriya spoke about Broken News, Guilty Minds and how OTT has boomed her career. “I love the way these women were written. These women were written as strong and vulnerable, you see them in a holistic manner and not as caricatures. I also give immense credit to the writers and it makes me happy to have received so many messages, especially from aspiring lawyers and news reporters. To be able to create these characters by sinking your teeth into them is the best part of my job. OTT gave me that opportunity to completely explore myself and discover things about myself. It’s not every time you’re going to get characters like these. I also worked with directors were very wonderful so that also really helped,” she said.
