Mahesh Manjrekar’s family drama, which has already roped in two legendary actors Naseeruddin Shah and Amol Palekar , now has a new entry. Vidyut Jammwal has joined the cast and will play an NRI returning to his hometown.
Producer Vijay Galani confirmed to Mumbai Mirror the news and said that Mahesh is even reworking Vidyut’s dialogues. Vidyut’s look is also being reworked and he might be seen in a completely different, de-glam avatar in this film. The actor had a number script reading sessions with the makers and finally agreed to sign the film.
“We have had several narrations with Vidyut over the last four months and he loved the script. He plays a well-educated and suave NRI who after returning to his hometown of Mumbai, gets caught in a tricky situation. His look completely changes in the film as he gets kicking and punching,” Galani told Mumbai Mirror.
The film will be shot in and around Mumbai and will also feature other young actors like Prateik Babbar and Jisshu Sengupta. Galani also hinted at negotiating with a popular actress to play the female lead. Without naming the actress, he said the leading lady will play a crucial role and has great elements to nurture Vidyut’s character as well.
Vidyut was last seen in Baadshaho alongside Ajay Devgn and will soon start promoting his next project Junglee , directed by Chuck Russell. Mahesh’s film, which will see the reunion of Naseeruddin and Palekar after 13 years, goes on floor in June.
