Salman Khan planning Hindi remake of Rogue with Sooraj Pancholi; signs a Korean film remake

Salman Khan is donning both his hats, as an actor and as a producer, fairly well. After wrapping up the shooting of Kabir Khan’s period war drama Tubelight, he is going to start shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s action thriller Tiger Zinda Hai. On the production front, it was reported that he is in talks with Siddharth Malhotra for a film and now he seems keen on casting Sooraj Pancholi for the Hindi remake of Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming Telugu entertainer Rogue. News18[/caption] Khan has been in praise of Jagannadh ever since he starred in the Prabhu Deva’s 2009 action entertainer Wanted, the Hindi remake of Jagannadh’s 2006 film Pokiri. India Today reports that he was floored by the story of Rogue and is already planning a Hindi remake though the shooting of the Telugu film is far from over. Deccan Chronicle also reports that Khan is planning to cast good friend Sooraj Pancholi for the lead role in this film. He launched Pancholi in Nikhil Advani’s 2015 action romance drama Hero. Khan has also hired a team of creative developers to tweak Jagannadh’s script in accordance with the syntax of Hindi cinema. Khan seems to be plunging into film production whole-heartedly. His production stint started with Nitesh Tiwari’s 2011 film Chillar Party which earned him a National Award for Best Children’s Film. His next production was  a Canadian venture in Jean-Francois Pouliot’s 2014 romantic comedy Dr Cabbie. Then he produced two Kabir Khan films in which he was the lead actor - the 2015 blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tubelight. His upcoming productions include two Sikh-oriented projects - Lions of the Sea , an Indo-Canadian venture and the upcoming joint collaboration with Karan Johar , starring Akshay Kumar. Khan has his eyes set not only on cinema of the South but also Korean cinema. Koimoi.com reports that he will soon act in the remake of the second highest Korean film of all time, Yoon Je-kyoon’s 2014 film, Ode to My Father. Khan’s brother-in-law and filmmaker Atul Agnihotri has bought the rights of two Koreans films, including this one. The film is set in the troubled times of the partition of India and revolves around the refugees’ despair. DNA reports that it will be directed by Zafar, marking his third collaboration with Khan after the wrestling drama Sultan from last year, and Tiger Zinda Hai. Khan has collaborated with Agnihotri on four films in the past, including both of the latter’s directorials - the 2004 romantic drama Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha and the 2008 ensemble Hello. Besides these two projects, Khan also starred in Agnihotri’s productions, Siddique’s 2011 romantic comedy Bodyguard, and a cameo in the 2014 comedy O Teri. The other Korean film that Agnihotri has acquired is Scandal Makers, as reported by DNA. The same report suggests that it was the highest grosser of Korea in 2008 and revolves around a radio DJ’s love life. While Khan will not act in this one, the search for the cast is going on.
