It was earlier reported that Vipul Shah has approached Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra to play the lead roles in his next directorial Namastey England, the sequel of his 2007 romantic comedy Namastey London. Twitter[/caption] Now, Koimoi.com reports that Shah has indeed locked both the actors as part of the star cast but it is not for Namastey England. The film in question is titled Namastey Canada and Shah has clarified that is not the sequel of Namastey London as it is an altogether fresh story. But since he thanks lead actor of that film, Akshay Kumar, for giving him the rights, it is safe to say that Namastey Canada is a reboot of Namastey London. This film will mark Shah’s return to direction after seven years since he last donned the director’s hat for the 2010 romantic comedy Action Replay. Also, this will mark Arjun and Parineeti’s third collaboration after the former’s debut film, Habib Faisal’s 2012 romantic action film Ishaqzaade and their upcoming film, Dibakar Bannerjee’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar . Bollywood Hungama reports that Parineeti loved the script and termed it as ‘a desi story with a videshi heart’ (an Indian story with a Western heart). The same report states that Arjun also looks forward to working with Vipul, who has directed stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar in the past.
Vipul Shah confirms that Arjun Kapoor-Parineeti Chopra starer Namastey Canada is not a sequel of his 2007 film Namastey London starring Akshay Kumar.
