Fresh off its opening weekend, Baaghi 2 is registering an impressive run at the box office.

The movie had surpassed the Rs 25 crore figure on Friday itself. Now, Baaghi 2's box-office numbers for Saturday and Sunday are out, and Tiger Shroff's fifth full-length feature film has managed to rake in more than Rs 73 crore in its opening weekend, according to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

This makes Baaghi 2 the second highest weekend opener of 2018. The Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone-Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmaavat stays the highest grossing opening weekend movie of 2018 with a total of Rs 114 crore collected.

Baaghi 2, which also stars Disha Patani, Prateik Babbar, Manoj Bajpayee, Darshan Kumar, Randeep Hooda, and Deepak Dobriyal, has become the best performing Tiger Shroff movie at the box-office thus far.

Tiger Shroff, who has used his skills of dancing and martial arts to woo audiences, made his big-screen debut with 2014's Heropanti (directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala). While Heropanti proved to be a proper launch movie for Tiger, it box-office performance was lukewarm, to say the least. According to the figures provided by Bollywood Hungama, Heropanti's first day collection was Rs 6.63 crore, and it's total collection at the end of weekend stood at Rs 21.33 crore. Heropanti's lifetime earnings were Rs 52.92 crore.

Tiger Shroff's second movie was Baaghi (also directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala). Released in 2016, Baaghi starred Shraddha Kapoor and its box-office performance improved considerably compared to Tiger's debut movie. Baaghi managed to make Rs 11.94 crore on the first day of its release. It minted a total of Rs 38.58 crore at the end of the weekend, and its lifetime earning reached a total of Rs 76.34 crore; slightly higher than the total opening weekend collection of Baaghi 2.

Tiger Shroff's next movie was 2016's A Flying Jatt. Directed by Remo D'Souza, A Flying Jatt proved to be disappointing at the box-office with an opening day collection of just Rs 7.10 crore. Its total box-office collection at the end of the opening weekend stood at Rs 29.45 crore, and its lifetime collection was Rs 38.61 crore.

Munna Michael (directed and produced by Sabbir Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala respectively), was the sole 2017 Tiger Shroff release, and proved to be even more disappointing than A Flying Jatt. The movie managed to rake in a total of Rs 6.65 crore on its first day, and Rs 21.67 at the end of the opening weekend. Its lifetime box-office collection was Rs 32.89 crore.

Baaghi 2 has clearly beaten every previous Tiger Shroff release in just the opening weekend. The way it is progressing, the movie could become Tiger's first to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
