Avengers rumour round-up: Endgame may have a bigger threat than Thanos; Antman to introduce time travel?
2018 release Avengers: Infinity War had one of the most surprising endings for a movie. Our heroes, in all their efforts, had failed to save the universe. Thanos, the villain, had achieved his goal of eliminating half of the universe. As Marvel fans watched their heroes fade into dust, they could not help but ponder upon what is next. The Avengers have lost a major battle and everyone had paid a price. The last few minutes of the film got everyone talking about the future of the Marvel universe.
A few months back, Marvel released the Avengers: Endgame trailer and out came the theories. Fans are theorising and speculating the return of a few heroes, their fight with Thanos, and the possible resurrection of the lost Marvel stars. While some theories are well thought of, other provide absurd solutions.
Thanos might not really be the biggest threat
The theory posted by user JoshandMarie looks at the Marvel merchandise and the length of the film. The theory states that the run-time is reportedly three hours. It will be more than enough time to introduce a new character that is a force to reckon with. And if the fallen heroes are back in the game, Thanos would need to be stronger than before, or a new villain would rise, or the affects of the snap would have other cosmic implications that threaten the universe’s very existence. Hence, coming to the bigger threat, the user mentions that the threat can be an event other than an entity like Thanos.
Pepper Potts to join the team to defeat Thanos
It is unlikely for Potts to travel millions of miles in order to actually locate Tony Stark from space and then save him. However, this does not mean she will not be in the team to save the universe. It is possible that Potts dons her specially designed Stark suit and join the team for final battle. It can certainly be the thing that kept Gwyneth Paltrow in the role, and also a great final moment for the character, reports CBR.
Ant-Man will introduce the real time travel
In Avengers: Infinity War, when Janet van Dyne tells Scott Lang not to get lost in a time vortex, it is a very clear that it may be a deliberate piece of dialogue. Why would she mention it unless it was going to be important later on? Not to mention the fact that Scott gets out of the Quantum Realm on his own, somehow. Maybe he discovers a way to control and utilise those vortexes, reports CBR.
Also, let us not sideline the fact that the most important moment in the Avengers: Endgame trailer was when Scott Lang is knocking on the door of the Avengers compound, asking them to buzz him in. Maybe it is a hint that he is going to be playing a fairly big role in how the story plays out.
Will Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok join the Avengers:Endgame team?
Valkyrie was last seen in the final scene of Thor: Ragnarok, when Thor finally ascends the throne of Asgard on a spaceship. Later, we learn in the end scene of Avengers: Infinity War that Thanos has let half of the Asgardians on the ship survive while he killed the other half. We saw Heimdall (Idris Elba) die along with Loki (Tom Hiddleston), but we do not see Valkyrie or Korg and just assumed that they must have survived, since Thanos let half of the Asgardians leave unharmed. However, a latest tweet by fans show a new toy line-up where we can see Valkyrie in the silver- armoured suit. Recently launched Marvel toys also show Avenger stars Thor, Hulk, Rocket Racoon, Black Widow and others wear the same silver colour armoured costume.
Hence, fans have connected that dots and assumed that the Thor actor might join the team.

Last year, Tessa Thompson also took to her Twitter account and confirmed that Valkyrie had in fact survived not only Thanos’ onslaught on the Asgardian ship but also the snap. However, there has been no official confirmation if Valkyrie will appear in Avengers: Endgame.
No, she’s in one piece and THRIVING https://t.co/AUuyAMoCbf — Tessa Thompson (@TessaThompson_x) September 29, 2018 The theories will finally be put to rest with the release of Avengers: Endgame on 26 April.
