Shortly before his death, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange had said, “we’re in the endgame now” in Infinity War . Now an old clip of Robert Downey Jr, who plays Tony Stark aka Iron Man, mentioning the term even before the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015, has been making rounds on social media.
Before '@Avengers 2' release, "Endgame" was still in everyone's consciousness. It's a term used by @RobertDowneyJr to express that Ultron would be the key to give the #Avengers a chance to live normal lives. Is the teams' purpose in defeating Thanos the same key? #AvengersEndgame pic.twitter.com/340SoQtwJU

“He’s working on a system that will make it so the Avengers really won’t have to do what they’ve been doing all along which, purportedly should be the endgame,” says the actor.
The same is repeated in the film where the Avengers argue whether or not to go ahead with Tony’s Ultron program. In his defence, Tony says that the program will help them combat the alien threats that they have even faced before.
“A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We’re standing three hundred feet below it. We’re the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the live long day but that, up there, that’s the endgame,” says Tony.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Endgame is one of the highly anticipated films of 2019.
The film stars Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie.
Avengers: Endgame hits theatres worldwide on 26 April, 2019.
