Days before its release, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is here with a new trailer, giving a glimpse into the epic battle between the comic superhero Arthur Curry or Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and the Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II). Well, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be the final film in the DCEU timeline as Warner Bros. gears up to transition to the DC Universe. The December film will clearly bring an end to the franchise. Directed by James Wan, the new trailer of _Aquaman 2_ shows Arthur Curry squaring off with his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) as they fight against the Black Manta, who is out for revenge against the King of Atlantis. Aquaman 2 releases new trailer As the trailer begins, it shows Jason Momoa aka Arthur Curry starting a fresh life with his infant son, telling Jim about the exciting life that awaits him under the sea. “You and me, son. We’re special. We’re connected to the land and the sea … I can’t wait to show you all the awesome this world can be,” Momoa’s character tells his son. Later, the trailer goes on to show a few glimpses of the Black Manta who vows to cross any line to eliminate Aquaman and his empire. Notably, this comes in the backdrop of the first film where the Black Manta took a beating from Aquaman in their first encounter, and now holds a serious grudge against him. This time around, he will be seen taking things to the next level with the mythic Black Trident and awakening an ancient and dark power. It is then that Arthur Curry finds himself in a partnership with his brother, the former king of Atlantis. Setting aside their differences to rescue the family, save the kingdom, and prevent a global catastrophe, the two brothers will go to every possible extent as the stakes remain quite high. With an over-the-top underwater battle, the trailer also shows the return of Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother and Arthur’s human dad Tom. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is all set to hit theatres on 22 December 2023.
