About Def Leppard

Def Leppard is a legendary English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1977. As a central part of the new wave of British heavy metal, they became one of the most successful rock acts of the 1980s, blending hard rock with catchy, radio-friendly pop melodies. They are widely celebrated for their resilience, notably continuing after drummer Rick Allen lost his left arm in a 1984 car accident.

Beyond setting the tone for an unforgettable tour, the inclusion of Indian opening acts reflects a larger shift within the country’s live music ecosystem. Sharing the stage with global legends, Def Leppard, offers homegrown rock talent a rare and powerful platform - one that places them in front of thousands of passionate fans while positioning them within the same cultural moment as some of the most influential names in the genre.

BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment experiential division of BookMyShow, has unveiled a powerful line-up of Indian rock acts set to open the shows across the three cities. At a time when India’s rock scene is experiencing a quiet but undeniable moment, opportunities like these play an important role in amplifying local voices, nurturing new audiences and reminding fans that the spirit of rock has deep roots in India. As international acts continue to make their way to Indian stages in larger numbers, the collaboration between global icons and Indian artists signals a promising new chapter for the country’s rock movement - one that is louder, prouder and increasingly global in its outlook.
