Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s youngest son, Anant Ambani is set to tie the knot with Viren & Shaila Merchant’s daughter Radhika Merchant. The pre-wedding festivities will begin from March 1 to March 3 at Jamnagar, Gujarat and will be attended by influential personalities across the world.
While several updates about the mega event through videos and images have already stirred the internet, Anant Ambani has revealed why the family chose Jamnagar for his pre-wedding festivities with Radhika Merchant.
The youngest heir of Reliance Industries, Anant Ambani shared that his decision is encouraged by honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Wed In India’ call. Apart from that, he also shared that his grandmother Kokilaben Ambani was born in Jamnagar and it is the town where his grandfather Dhirubhai Ambani and father Mukesh Ambani’s business had originated.
“I have grown up here, and it’s my good fortune that we could plan the celebration here. This is my dadi’s janm bhoomi (grandmother’s birthplace) and my dada and papa’s karm bhoomi (my grandfather and father’s workplace). It’s a matter of pride and happiness when our PM said that one should get married in India. And this is my home.” Anant told India Today.
“My father often says that this is my dada’s sasural (in-laws’ house), and hence we are celebrating here. I also believe I am from Jamnagar, yahin ka nagarik hun (I am a Jamnagar citizen),” he further added.
Anant Ambani completed his studies from Brown University in the USA and has since served at Reliance Industries in various capacities including as a member on the Boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures. Radhika is a graduate of New York University and serves as a Director on the Board of Encore Healthcare. She is also a trained Indian classical dancer.
