The beautiful journey of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant from being childhood friends to now becoming life partners is undoubtedly one of the amazing fairy tales in the real world. While the pre-wedding festivities are set to begin from 1st March in Jamnagar, the youngest heir of Reliance Industries has shared his idea of a “perfect” date with Radhika Merchant.
In a recent interaction with India Today’s show Jab We Met, Anant Ambani opened up about his idea of a “perfect’ date with his soon-to-be wife Radhika Merchant. Talking about it, Anant said, “A date in Jamnagar would be walking in the forest, feeding my elephants. Or going in a small paddle boat with the elephants in the lake. Everything would be nature-oriented only.”
He added, “She is more happy in Jamnagar than anywhere else. She loves it here, even more than I do.”
Anant also revealed why the family chose Jamnagar for his pre-wedding festivities. He shared that his decision is encouraged by honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Wed In India’ call. Apart from that, he also shared that his grandmother Kokilaben Ambani was born in Jamnagar and it is the town where his grandfather Dhirubhai Ambani and father Mukesh Ambani’s business had originated.
“I have grown up here, and it’s my good fortune that we could plan the celebration here. This is my dadi’s janm bhoomi (grandmother’s birthplace) and my dada and papa’s karm bhoomi (my grandfather and father’s workplace). It’s a matter of pride and happiness when our PM said that one should get married in India. And this is my home,” said Anant.
“My father often says that this is my dada’s sasural (in-laws’ house), and hence we are celebrating here. I also believe I am from Jamnagar, yahin ka nagarik hun (I am a Jamnagar citizen),” he further added.
