Amid Deepika Padukone's shift demand, Netflix's 'Delhi Crime' actress Shefali Shah says 'My husband told my assistant I can't shoot for 24 hours'

Netflix’s ‘Delhi Crime’ actress Shefali Shah has been acting for over three decades. She was always one of the finest actresses in the industry whose potential was tapped quite later but it finally happened and how! Her web-show Delhi Crime has entered its third season with all glory and aplomb.

In an interview with News18 amid Deepika Padukone’s shift demand that has stirred a debate in Bollywood, Shah revealed, “After all this time, after Delhi Crime, after me headlining a show, now I get what I ask for. Earlier, it was out of the question. For the longest time, I didn’t have any agent now I have someone with me who is very fierce and she goes all out to protect me.”

The actress added, “Also, now there is a thing of if this is not possible then I will not do the project. Earlier, whatever they say, I agreed.”

Shefali Shah also revealed, “Recently, Vipul Shah (her husband and producer) was talking to my assistant and told her that she has to get me out of the set after the agreed time because I can’t shoot for 24 hours. He told her, ‘She has to be taken out of there. She has to be physically moved out’. I am still made to feel guilty about it in certain ways.”

The first thing that draws you to Shefali Shah is her expressive eyes. In an interview with Firstpost, she says how the industry used to label you as a character artist, if you don’t belong to a certain age bracket. But not anymore with the digital revolution. Delhi Crime is one of the most watched and appreciated shows on digital platforms and ‘Vartika Chaturvedi’ is one of the most respected characters.

The actress exclusively told Firstpost, “As far as Vartika is concerned, you obviously change as a person. Your emotional consistency always changes depending upon what is thrown at you. She has almost been banished from her kingdom to say the least, her place (Delhi) and her family and her team.”
