After dating for a long time, Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora recently parted ways this year. The actor recently confirmed his breakup at an event during the promotion of Singham Again while interacting with a paparazzi and declared, “Nahin ab main single hoon, relax karo (No, I am now single. Relax).
Amid the chaos in her life, Malaika Arora is choosing to stay friends with Arbaaz Khan and co-parent their son Arhaan.
“For whatever it’s worth, touch wood, we’ve found a great balance now. Perhaps initially it was a little tricky. And rightly so — because that’s just how life is. We both knew that irrespective of everything else and what may have transpired between two adults, it should never reflect on a child — and we have figured out a very congenial way of co-parenting," Malaika told Hello Magazine in a latest interview.
The actress added, “I’ve said this before; I’d rather have Arhaan be my friend — where he can feel comfortable talking to me about anything. I would hate it if he felt he couldn’t come to me or had to think 10 times before speaking his mind, wondering whether his mum is going to completely flip out! I like the fact that he can come tell me anything if he wants — and that goes for my nieces and nephews too.”
Now, Malaika Arora has reacted to Arjun Kapoor’s remark and said it’s the actor’s prerogative. “I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative,” said Malaika while talking to ETimes.
In a recent interview, Malaika shared how being financially independent is important and keeping finances separate from partners after marriage.
“It’s good that you’re doing things together but that doesn’t mean you kind of give up your entire identity and take on someone else’s. As it is you’re taking on somebody else’s last name, right? So I think the least you can do is hang on to your own bank account," she said.
