Ajit Arora is a distinguished producer known for his award-winning films, including 377 Ab Normal and Unaad, among many others. He pioneered India’s first music-themed web series and continues to push creative boundaries. Most recently, he produced Red Letter, a short film addressing the critical social issue of child abuse. The film was featured at the prestigious Jagran Film Festival.

Talking about what drives him towards storytelling, Arora said, “I believe in crafting cinema that is both creatively engaging and message-driven. Whether I’m involved as a producer, director, or writer, the film must have soul. I look for meaningful stories both around me and within myself, always keeping the commercial aspect in mind. A film should not only say something important but also express it beautifully and aesthetically. That’s what drives me to make the films I have so far.”

Talking about Red Letter, he revealed, “Red Letter is very close to my heart because of its subject. I dedicated one and a half years to this film, driven by my strong belief in its powerful message. As creators, I think it’s our responsibility to address and showcase such pressing issues that are rampant in society and destroying many lives. I hope this film sparks meaningful conversations, raises awareness, and makes people more vigilant.”

On being a successful producer

“I have always been involved in writing movie scripts. When you write, the story and characters come alive—they talk, behave, walk in your imagination. This visualisation helped me immensely when stepping in front of the camera. Acting allowed me to experience other side of filmmaking, deepening my respect for the craft. I feel incredibly fortunate that our creative work can reach and resonate with millions of people—it’s a truly fulfilling experience."

Talking about the digital content, Ajit said, “We are already in a rapidly evolving digital era. Audiences in India are consuming a diverse range of international content, which is both exciting and challenging for filmmakers and music creators. It pushes us to innovate and produce world-class content that stands out on a global stage.”

He also spoke about Red Letter being screened at Jagran Film Festival and said, “One of the most rewarding moments was receiving praise from industry peers, including Bollywood renowned Actors Sunny Singh and Ravi Dubey, as well as respected Directors. They acknowledged the difficulty of both directing and acting in a film with such a sensitive subject and applauded my efforts in excelling at both. Hearing this from experienced professionals reassured me that I was on the right path as a filmmaker. But what truly humbled me was when a couple approached me after the screening and said, ‘Thank you for making a film on this subject.”
