Janki Bodiwala made her Bollywood debut with Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyotika starrer Shaitaan, which was the remake of the Gujarati film Vash. The actress reprised her role in the Hindi film and garnered praise for her impeccable portrayal of an enslaved girl with dark magic.
In a recent interview, Janki spoke about her intense prep for Vash and revealed that during workshops director Krishnadev Yagnik asked her actually to pee in a pivotal scene. She was happy by the thought of the filmmaker that it could make a great impact.
“I did the Gujarati version, and I had the same scene to perform there. While we were doing workshops, the director, he’s a very good person. He asked me, can you just do it for real? The pee scene. It will make a big impact. And I was so happy about it. Like, whoa! Being an actor, I’m getting a chance to do it on screen. Something that no one has ever done," Janki told Filmfare.
She also revealed that it wouldn’t been practically possible on the set. “So we found a way of doing that. I was happy I get to do things I can’t in real life. And that scene is like literally the favourite scene. And because of that scene, I said yes to that film," she shared.
Talking about Vash, the film also featured Hitu Kanodia, Niilam Paanchal and Hiten Kumar in prominent roles.
On the other hand, Shaitaan, which was directed by Vikas Bahl of Queen and Super 30 fame, earned close to Rs 150 crore at the box office turned out to be a success.
In November 2024, Ajay Devgn confirmed that Shaitaan 2 is in the scripting stage.
